For several weeks, five women from the Loky Manambato protected area will participate in Barefoot College Madagascar’s ENRICH+ program in Tsiafajavona. At the end of this training, they will leave with new skills in leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal development that they can put to work for their families, associations, and villages.

Leaving one’s village for several weeks is never a small decision. Yet, five women from Loky Manambato chose to take on this challenge by joining the Barefoot College Madagascar training center in Tsiafajavona.

Hailing from Ampasimadera, Ambavarano, Soafaneva, and Ampisikina, they will spend nearly a month and a half in the ENRICH+ program, designed to empower rural women. Upon their return, each will have new tools to start ventures, take on greater responsibilities within her association, and develop initiatives in her village.

All five are already active members of women’s associations in their commune. Their daily lives are deeply connected to the natural resources their families rely on, but this training goes beyond that. Its primary goal is to broaden their horizons: building self-confidence, improving communication, understanding their rights, developing economic projects, and strengthening their ability to mobilize other women around local initiatives.

At Fanamby, supporting communities isn’t just about backing on-the-ground activities. It’s also about investing in the women and men who will shape the future of these regions.

The ENRICH+ program directly reflects this ambition. Covering leadership, personal development, entrepreneurship, health, environment, and income-generating activities, the various modules are designed to help participants build their autonomy and daily empowerment.
